Treasurer's
Report:
Hope Swoffer gave treasury report and a report regarding funds received
from the teams entered into the Midnight Sun Tournament- presently $20,075
has been collected from teams. There are 77 teams registered to attend this
year about 15 more than last year.
Sponsorship
has brought in $3,125 and should allow for the tournament books to break even
and perhaps a little profit. Total money paid out at present time is $2836
for tournament pins, trophies, and a tarp. Referees still need to be paid.
FYSA has that contract so we do not know at this moment what the cost will
be.
MST
Update:
Valerie Flint stated that there were still 4 team to register. Schedules
should be put on the web page Monday, June 18.Awards ceremonies will be held
at a central location following the end of
each championship game. That location will be announced at the coaches meeting.
Field Marshall information will be handed out at credentials and information
given at the coaches meeting.
The concession
stand will have free hot dogs and hamburgers for the referees during the tournament.
There
are 6 tables that will be selling various items and or food during the tournament.
Picnic
is at 6 PM please bring food by 5:30 the 89 and 90 team will set up and clean
up.
Hamburgers
/hot-dogs have been donated...still need paper products ..agreed that it could
be covered under tournament expense if these items need to be purchased.
Crad
Fee Collection:
The collection due date is May 1st. Due to this program not being underway
prior to that date this years fees need to be in to Hope Swoffer no later
than August 1st. Teams write
one check and turn it in to Hope. Here after May 1st will be the due date
for collecting Crad fees.
Eclipse
Clinic:
Karla Bright spoke about the clinic that the 88,89, and 90Õs teams
are participating in. It will begin Monday. The coaches are fun and really
enjoy talking ŌsoccerĶ. The BrightÕs invited all attending the clinic to a
picnic at their home that Sunday night.
Car
Washes:
The car
wash supplies are still missing. The new 91 team would appreciate borrowing
car wash supplies to help them with their car wash scheduled for June 30th.
Player
and Coach Evaluations:
Reminder to coaches that it is time to give one of their two player
evaluations. They must give two evaluations during the summer season one written
and one verbal.
Managers
please strongly encourage your parents to fill out the coaches evaluation
form and turn it in. Our coaches always appreciate knowing that they are doing
a good job, but in order to grow and improve they need to hear from the parents.
Fall
Registration:
Greg stated that it has been suggested that payment of club dues take
place in the fall to help break up costs to the families. Cindy Vredenburg
motioned to collect club dues and indoor fees upon notification of making
the team in the fall. The motion
was seconded by Sondra Templeton. All present were in favor-motion passed.
Try-Outs:
90's need to have early try outs due to coaches leaving for college. DoesnÕt
seem to be a good date to choose to help this situation. Greg stated his hesitancy
to hold try-outs before State Cup didnÕt feel that would be appropriate.
Coaches
need to be considering try out dates and a firm date will be set at the next
meeting for the fall try-outs for all teams.
Collection
Envelopes:
Valerie Flint discussed printing up envelopes that could be used for
transferring money too and from the player and team treasurer. Greg asked
that if this is done would we want the club to pay for it so that every team
could use this system. Sondra Templeton asked that we consider making the
envelopes ourselves by purchasing a stamp.
Both ideas have been left for consideration while costs are looked
into. Greg will speak with Linda Colang who has already looked into costs
of printed envelopes and then ask Sallie to send out a questionnaire regarding
what we would want printed on the envelopes to help aid money transactions.
Hopefully this information will be made available by the end of the month.
Next board
meeting will be Sunday , July 29th at 4 pm. Location to be announced.
Meeting
