The Treasurer’s report
The Treasurer’s report was given: See attached statement
The Treasurer’s report does not include the “gaming account” which has an approximate balance of $3,400.00.

Old Business
Carla is trying to firm up dates for the summer clinic. She is coordinating with Chugiak. June 28- July 3, are the dates presently being arranged.

Purchase of Laptop computer: Patrice will get more information to Gary Bender regarding a low cost ($450.00) laptop that can be used at meetings and at the fields, etc.

New Business
Spring tryouts were held for the ‘85 ‘86 team. Twenty-three girls tried out. Eighteen were selected. Jon Starr was suggested as the head coach with Greg Gibson as the assistant. A motion was made by Bruce M. to accept Jon Starr as the head coach of the “85 ‘86 Eclipse team with Greg as the assistant. Gary Bender seconded the motion and it passed.

Hope S. suggested that teams be fined $15.00 per day for every day they are late submitting required fees to the treasurer. Teams may fine individual players who are late turning in their fees. Appeals may be made to the Eclipse Board.

FYSA dues of $1,500.00 per team are due to them by April 1, 2002.

‘92 team - Greg G. solicited opinions from the board about possible coaches. He suggested two names of Eclipse players who were interested. The board thought we should look into the idea of having adult coaches with the girls as assistant coaches. Bruce G. would like to start with a “92 team in the fall. Fall tryouts will mean that many area girls are already on a team, leaving the ‘92 team with perhaps fewer players to choose from. The Arctic Knights have a ‘92 team. At present there is no coach if tryouts for this age group are held this spring. Roy moved that the ‘92 team be formed in the fall. Hope seconded this motion and all approved.

Midnight sun pins should be sold for cost to traveling teams for exchanging at tournaments. Cindy made a motion to sell the Midnight Sun Pins for $1.50 each. Bruce M seconded the motion and it passed.

A question was raised about whether the club should buy more Eclipse pins. It was reported that the ‘90’s and ‘91’s haven’t received pins. All Eclipse players are to receive a pin.

Hope S. reported about the new method for soliciting donations from British Petroleum. They have a new form. Hope will send the form to all team treasurers. With the new method, moneys will be transferred electronically. See Hope if you have questions.

Greg reported on the trip Danny and he took to the soccer convention. He mentioned classes they had participated in, seeing many celebrities, attending a formal dinner with Score Uniforms. He and Danny are available to share the information they learned in clinics and classes with teams/parents. Greg will ask Amber Zellweger to e-mail a list of topics they could present. They both came back “charged” about soccer.

Greg and Danny are interested in forming a soccer clinic in Fairbanks. (Eclipse Camp) It is in the idea stage at this point.

Beverly L. will block hotel space for tournaments. See Beverly if you need information about rooms reserved for Eclipse teams for the Ina K. and Far North tournaments.

The next board meeting will be held April 14, 2002 at the Salvation Army building next to Denali School.

Meeting adjourned at 5:35 PM
